Small changes to how you recommend often matter more than more traffic.

WHAT TENDS TO HELP

Recommending at the moment of need, inside a tutorial, rather than on a separate review page Being specific about who the service suits and who it does not Including genuine drawbacks, which makes the positives credible Saying what you personally use and why Linking to the specific plan you are recommending rather than the homepage, where the format allows Disclosing the commission plainly, which reads as confidence

WHAT TENDS TO HURT

Overclaiming performance or uptime Excessive links, which read as advertising Comparison content where the winner is obviously predetermined Recommending a service you have not used

A PRACTICAL EXERCISE

Read your own page as if you were the reader. Would you act on it? If it reads like something written to earn a commission, it will be read that way.

MEASURE OVER MONTHS

Conversion rates on small numbers are noise. Change one thing, wait, and judge over a reasonable period rather than reacting to a slow week.
