What the figures mean and how often to look.
THE METRICS
- Visitors: clicks that arrived through your link
- Signups: visitors who created an account
- Conversions: signups who placed a qualifying order
Pending and available commission
USEFUL RATIOS
Visitors to signups tells you whether your audience is the right one and whether your framing is convincing. Signups to conversions tells you whether people who register go on to buy. A gap here often means a pricing or fit mismatch rather than anything you did wrong.
HOW OFTEN TO CHECK
Monthly. Affiliate figures move slowly, and daily checking produces anxiety rather than insight.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE INFORMATION
- Low visitors: your content is not reaching people, or the link is poorly placed.
- Visitors but no signups: the audience does not need hosting, or the recommendation is unconvincing.
- Signups but no orders: possibly the wrong audience for our pricing, or people comparing and choosing elsewhere.
- Steady conversions: write more content like whatever is producing them.
