Isolating project dependencies.

WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

Two projects needing different versions of the same library.

Installed globally, they conflict.

WHAT A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT IS

An isolated set of installed packages for one project.

WHY IT MATTERS

Each project has exactly what it needs Upgrading one project does not break another You can reproduce the environment elsewhere

WHEN TO CREATE ONE

For every project, without exception.

HOW IT WORKS

You create it, activate it, and install packages into it.

While active, Python and package commands use that environment.

WHAT TO DO

Create it inside the project folder Exclude it from version control Record dependencies separately

WHAT NOT TO DO

Install project packages globally Copy an environment between machines

WHY NOT COPY

Environments contain paths specific to where they were created.

Recreate from the dependency file instead.

ON YOUR HOSTING

cPanel's Python application feature creates and manages a virtual environment for you.
