Multilingual Versus Multi-Region Print

Two different problems.

MULTILINGUAL

The same content in different languages.

The audience differs by what they read.

MULTI-REGION

Different content for different places: prices, delivery, availability, legal terms.

The audience may read the same language.

WHAT THAT MEANS PRACTICALLY

A Nigerian and a Ghanaian customer may both read English and need different prices and delivery information.

That is a regional problem, not a language one.

WHY THE DISTINCTION MATTERS

Language versions are handled by translation.

Regional versions are handled by content differences and sometimes separate sites.

MANY SITES NEED ONE, NOT BOTH

Decide which problem you actually have.

WHEN YOU NEED BOTH

Operating in several countries with different languages.

That is genuinely complex. Plan it properly.

WHAT MOST SMALL BUSINESSES NEED

Neither, or a single regional variation.
