Already fast, and how to keep it.

WHY THEY ARE FAST

The server sends an existing file. Nothing is built.

WHAT CAN STILL MAKE THEM SLOW

Large unoptimised images Many third-party scripts Large JavaScript bundles Fonts loaded from elsewhere

THE IMAGE POINT

The same as any site. Resize and compress before publishing.

Static does not make a four-megabyte photograph small.

THE SCRIPT POINT

Analytics, chat widgets, comment services, fonts.

Each is a request to another server.

A static site with six third-party scripts is not fast.

WHAT TO ENABLE

Compression Browser caching

Both in .htaccess, or already on.

FOR FRAMEWORK OUTPUT

JavaScript bundles can be large.

Check what your build produces. Code splitting and removing unused dependencies help.

WHAT TO TEST

Your own phone, on mobile data.

The same test as any site.
