Decide your position, state it, and then actually do it.
THE OPTIONS
You take backups and can restore on request. Most valuable, most work. Charge for it. Clients take their own. Lowest effort, but say so clearly or they will assume otherwise. Both, which is the honest recommendation.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Server-level backups with retention according to your plan. Where JetBackup is available you can restore from WHM or from an account's cPanel. This is a safety net, not a client-facing service, and retention is finite.
DOING IT PROPERLY
Configure backups per account and store them off the server, in Google Drive, Dropbox or your own storage. Keep at least one monthly copy. Infections and mistakes are often discovered weeks later. Test a restore occasionally. An untested backup is a guess.
WHAT TO TELL CLIENTS
How often backups run, how long they are kept, how to request a restore, whether it costs anything, and how quickly it can be done.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Do not imply comprehensive backups you are not actually taking. That promise surfaces on the worst day of the relationship.
