Creating a Standard Onboarding Process Print

Doing the same things in the same order for every client removes most future support.

YOUR CHECKLIST

  1. Create the cPanel account from the correct package.
  2. Send the client their credentials, nameservers and a short getting-started note.
  3. Confirm the domain has been pointed, and check it resolves.
  4. Run AutoSSL and enable Force HTTPS.
  5. Create their mailboxes and send the device setup details.
  6. Install their site, or migrate it from their previous host.
  7. Set up the WordPress cron job, since HTTP wp-cron is blocked.
  8. Set the cPanel contact email to an address not on the domain being hosted.
  9. Configure backups and confirm they run.
  10. Record the account in your own records: client name, username, domain, package, renewal date.

WHAT TO SEND THEM

Credentials, nameserver instructions, mail client settings, your support contact and hours, and what is and is not included.

WHY THIS PAYS

Every item skipped becomes a support ticket later, usually at an inconvenient hour. Ten minutes of consistency at setup saves hours across a year.
