Clients ask what they are using, particularly when you suggest an upgrade.
WHERE TO FIND IT
WHM > Account Information > List Accounts shows disk and bandwidth per account at a glance. WHM > Account Information > View Bandwidth Usage gives bandwidth by account and by month. Inside a client's cPanel, Metrics > Bandwidth and Disk Usage give them the same information themselves.
WHAT TO SHOW A CLIENT
A figure with context. "You are using 4.2GB of your 5GB allowance, and it has grown 400MB a month since January" is an upgrade conversation. "You are nearly full" is an argument.
COMMON CAUSES OF GROWTH
Backup plugins storing archives on the server Email accumulating, particularly large attachments and full trash folders Media libraries of unoptimised images Old staging copies nobody removed Log files left enabled
Frequently the answer is cleanup rather than an upgrade. Saying so when it is true earns more trust than selling a bigger plan.
PROACTIVE CHECKING
Look at the over-quota list weekly. Contacting a client before their email stops is worth far more than responding after it has.
