cPanel Disk Usage, sorted by size.
THE USUAL CULPRITS
Backup archives on the account Mailboxes, particularly Trash and Junk Cache directories Log files Old site copies Uploaded media
WHAT TO REMOVE FIRST
Backups, after downloading them.
That is usually the largest single recovery.
FOR MAILBOXES
Empty Trash and Junk Archive old messages locally Set per-mailbox quotas so one cannot fill the account
FOR LOGS
Clear old ones. Disable debug logging left enabled.
FOR CACHE
Safe to clear. It regenerates.
FOR MEDIA
Remove unused uploads. Consider whether large video belongs on hosting.
BEFORE DELETING ANYTHING
Back up, and investigate anything unfamiliar rather than deleting it blindly.
WHAT TO DO AFTERWARDS
Set a reminder to check monthly.
