Modifying an Existing Client Account Print

Limits, packages and details can be changed at any time without recreating the account.

CHANGING THE PACKAGE

WHM > Account Functions > Upgrade/Downgrade an Account. Select the account, choose the new package, and apply. The account's limits change immediately; the site is unaffected.

CHANGING INDIVIDUAL LIMITS

WHM > Account Functions > Modify an Account. Here you can adjust the disk quota, bandwidth, account limits, contact email and primary domain independently of the package.

Use this for one-off exceptions. If you find yourself making the same exception repeatedly, create a package for it instead.

CHANGING THE PRIMARY DOMAIN

Possible from Modify an Account, but it does not update the domain inside the client's website software. A WordPress site will still hold the old address in its database and must be updated separately.

CHANGING THE PASSWORD

WHM > Account Functions > Password Modification. Note that this may also reset the account's database password depending on the options chosen, so check before applying it to a live site.

BEFORE ANY SIGNIFICANT CHANGE

Take a backup of the account. Changes are fast to make and occasionally slow to undo.
