Lower TTLs a day in advance Confirm the new site is fully tested Confirm every DNS record exists at the destination

THE SWITCH

Change nameservers at your registrar to those shown in your Client Area.

Or, if keeping DNS elsewhere, change the A records.

HOW LONG IT TAKES

Usually within an hour. Occasionally up to forty-eight.

DURING PROPAGATION

Some visitors reach the old server, some the new.

Keep both running.

For a shop, check both for orders.

WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER

Confirm the domain resolves here Run AutoSSL Test the site Test mail, both directions

RUNNING AUTOSSL

Only after the domain resolves here. Certificates cannot be issued for a domain we do not serve.

WHAT TO MONITOR
