Promotional prices apply to the term they specify. Renewals are at the standard rate.
HOW IT WORKS
A promotional price is offered for an initial period, typically the first term. When that term ends, the service renews at the standard price for the plan.
This is set out at the point of order and on the invoice, but it is easy to overlook when the promotional price is prominent.
CHECKING WHAT YOU WILL PAY NEXT
Services > My Services shows the recurring amount for each service. That is the figure that will be invoiced at renewal, not the promotional price you originally paid.
WHY IT IS DONE THIS WAY
Introductory pricing is standard across the hosting and domain industry. Being explicit about it here is preferable to leaving you to discover it on the renewal invoice.
MAKING THE MOST OF IT
If a promotional rate applies to longer terms, buying a longer initial term locks in the lower price for longer.
IF THE RENEWAL PRICE DOES NOT SUIT YOU
Decide before the renewal date, not after. Downgrade to a plan that fits, or cancel cleanly with your data backed up. What you should not do is let it lapse by inaction, which means suspension and possibly data loss.
