Showing rather than describing.

WHY EXAMPLES WORK

One example of the output you want conveys more than several paragraphs describing it.

Tone, structure, length and register all come through at once.

HOW TO USE THEM

"Here are two product descriptions I wrote. Write one for [new product] in the same style."

FOR VOICE

Paste two or three pieces of your own writing and ask for that voice.

Far more effective than describing your voice.

FOR FORMAT

Show the exact structure you want, including headings and spacing.

HOW MANY

One is usually enough. Two or three for anything complex.

More than that rarely helps and uses context.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD EXAMPLE

Representative of what you actually want Complete, not an extract Correct, because errors in the example propagate

THAT LAST POINT

The model will reproduce whatever is in your example, including mistakes.

WHEN EXAMPLES ARE ESSENTIAL

Specific formats Your own voice Anything a description struggles to convey
