Before, during and after.
BEFORE
"Here is the agenda. What should I prepare? What questions are likely?"
Useful for meetings where you need to be ready.
DURING
Recording and transcribing, where appropriate and where participants know.
AFTER
Summarising into decisions, actions and owners.
"Summarise: decisions made, actions with owners and dates, open questions."
WHAT TO CHECK
Who agreed to what Anything recorded as decided that was discussed
Misattributed actions cause real problems.
THE DISCIPLINE THAT MATTERS
Circulating the summary within a day.
Meetings whose outcomes are not recorded produce nothing.
ON RECORDING
Tell participants. In many contexts consent is required.
For sensitive meetings, consider whether the content should go to an AI service at all.
WHAT AI DOES NOT FIX
Meetings that should not have happened.
If the summary is short and contains no decisions, the meeting was unnecessary.
