Uptime is the percentage of time a service is reachable. It is a useful measure, but it is frequently misread.

WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN IN PRACTICE

99.9% allows roughly 43 minutes of downtime per month. 99.99% allows roughly 4 minutes per month.

No provider that is honest claims 100%. Hardware fails, networks have incidents, and emergency security patches sometimes require a reboot.

WHAT IS USUALLY COUNTED

Server and network availability. Our responsibility.

WHAT IS USUALLY NOT COUNTED

Downtime caused by your own site's code, a broken plugin, or an exhausted resource limit. Downtime from a suspension for non-payment or abuse. Downtime during announced scheduled maintenance. Problems at your domain registrar or external DNS provider. Problems on the visitor's own connection.

MONITORING IT YOURSELF

Use an external monitoring service such as UptimeRobot. Free plans check every few minutes and email you when the site stops responding. It is worth having independent data rather than relying on anyone's word, including ours.

If you believe you have experienced downtime attributable to us, open a ticket with the dates, times and your monitoring evidence, and we will investigate properly.
