If your plan permits multiple domains, you can run several completely separate websites from one cPanel account.
ADDING A SITE
- Register the domain and point its nameservers at the pair shown for your account.
- cPanel > Domains > Create A New Domain.
- Enter the domain without www.
- Untick "Share document root" so the site gets its own folder.
- Submit.
- Upload that site's files to its folder, or install an application to it via Softaculous.
- Run AutoSSL so the new domain gets a certificate.
WHAT EACH SITE GETS
Its own folder, its own email accounts, its own databases and its own SSL certificate. The sites are independent from a visitor's point of view.
WHAT THEY SHARE
Disk space, inodes, bandwidth and, importantly, the CPU and memory allowance of the single account. A busy or compromised site affects every other site on the same account.
WHEN TO SEPARATE THEM
Client sites, or sites belonging to different businesses, are better on separate accounts or on reseller hosting. A single compromise or a single suspension then affects one site, not all of them.
