Selling work rather than goods.

WHAT TO COVER

What the service includes and excludes How quotes and estimates work Payment terms, including deposits Timescales, and what affects them Cancellation and rescheduling What you are responsible for and what you are not Who owns what is produced How changes to scope are handled

THE SCOPE CLAUSE

The most valuable. State that work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately.

Without it, every additional request is an argument.

DEPOSITS

State the amount, when it is due, and whether it is refundable.

Non-refundable deposits should say so before payment.

TIMESCALES

State what you will do and what depends on the client: content, approvals, access.

Most delays are caused by the client, and terms that acknowledge this protect you.

OWNERSHIP

For creative work, state who owns the result and when ownership transfers, usually on full payment.

REVISIONS

State how many rounds are included.

CANCELLATION

What happens to work already done, and to money already paid.
