Making them findable.

THE FOOTER

Every page. That is where people look.

A row of links: Privacy, Terms, Returns, Contact.

AT THE POINT THEY MATTER

Privacy notice linked beside any form collecting data Terms linked at checkout, with a tick box Returns policy linked on product pages and at checkout Delivery information before checkout, not at the final step

WHY POINT-OF-USE MATTERS

A customer at checkout wondering about returns should find the answer there, not have to search the footer.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Bury them Make them a download rather than a page Put them behind a login Require scrolling through a modal to proceed

THE TICK BOX

Not pre-ticked. The customer must actively agree.

A pre-ticked box is not agreement.

ON MOBILE

Footer links must be tappable and readable. Frequently they are the smallest text on the site.

SEARCH ENGINES

These pages need not rank. There is no harm in them being indexed and no benefit in preventing it.
