The form that matters most.

WHY THIS ONE FIRST

It is the route by which someone tells you they cannot use the rest of your site.

If it is inaccessible, you never hear from them.

WHAT IT NEEDS

A visible label on every field Clear indication of which fields are required, in text Errors identified by field, explained, and announced Input preserved when an error occurs A submit button that is a real button Confirmation that is announced, not only shown

KEEP IT SHORT

Every field is a barrier for someone. Ask for the minimum.

CAPTCHAS

The most common accessibility failure on contact forms.

A traditional image puzzle excludes blind users entirely.

Use a honeypot field, or a modern alternative that does not require solving a visual puzzle.

ALTERNATIVES

A phone number and an email address alongside the form.

Someone who cannot use the form must have another route.

WHATSAPP

For many Nigerian businesses, an additional route that some people find far easier.

TESTING

Complete and submit the form using only the keyboard, then with a screen reader.

Then deliberately trigger an error and check what happens.
