CHECK WHAT IS PUBLISHED
A DNS lookup tool, querying your authoritative nameservers.
CHECK MAIL RECORDS
cPanel > Email Deliverability.
CHECK NAMESERVERS AND EXPIRY
WHOIS.
BEFORE A CHANGE
Export the zone. Lower the TTL a day ahead.
AFTER A CHANGE
Query authoritatively. Test the site. Test mail both ways. Check subdomains.
WHEN MAIL STOPS
MX records, the hostname they point at, and the cPanel routing setting.
WHEN NOTHING RESOLVES
Expiry, nameservers, or a missing A record.
WHEN A CHANGE SEEMS NOT TO WORK
Check where you made it.
