Changes that do not persist.
WHAT HAPPENS
You add or change a record, and later it is gone or back to a previous value.
THE COMMON CAUSES
Editing in cPanel while nameservers point elsewhere. The record was never live and something later overwrote the cPanel zone. A control panel action that regenerates the zone: removing and re-adding a domain, or changing the account's address. Another person with access making changes. An integration or plugin managing DNS automatically.
THE AUTOMATIC MANAGEMENT CASE
Some services and some Cloudflare integrations write DNS records. If one is configured, it may overwrite manual changes.
Check what has API access to your DNS.
WHAT TO CHECK
Whether the record is present at the provider your nameservers actually name Who else has access Whether any integration manages DNS
IF IT KEEPS REVERTING
Something is rewriting it. Find what, rather than repeatedly correcting it.
WHAT TO DO
Export the zone so you have a reference Review who and what has access Open a ticket if a cPanel zone is changing without explanation
