Yes. Point A records at one and MX records at the other, and set cPanel email routing to remote.

Usually made in the wrong place. Check your nameservers.
DO I NEED A WWW RECORD?
Yes, if you want www to work. It is not automatic.

No. Both fail. Combine them.

If DNS is external, you must add the record there as well as creating the subdomain in cPanel.

MX records were not recreated at the new provider.
