Pointing somewhere unexpected.
WHAT IT MEANS
The A record points at an address other than your current server.
THE COMMON CAUSES
A previous host's address, left after a migration DNS managed at a provider you forgot about A record changed in cPanel while nameservers point elsewhere A CDN or proxy in the path
CHECKING
Look up the domain and compare the returned address against the one shown in cPanel.
If they differ, the record is wrong or is held somewhere else.
CHECKING WHERE DNS LIVES
WHOIS shows the nameservers. If they are not ours, records must be changed there.
IF THE ADDRESS IS CLOUDFLARE'S
The record is proxied, which is expected. The site should still load correctly.
If it does not, the problem is the Cloudflare configuration rather than DNS.
AFTER A MIGRATION
Every A record must be updated, not just the main one.
A subdomain pointing at the old server serves an old copy, which confuses everyone.
THE FIX
Update the record wherever DNS actually lives, and wait for the TTL.
