Pointing a domain at us.
WHERE TO FIND YOURS
Client Area > Services > My Services. Your hosting service page shows the nameserver pair for your account.
The welcome email also states them.
WHY THEY DIFFER BETWEEN ACCOUNTS
Different servers use different nameserver pairs. Using the wrong pair means your domain does not resolve to your account.
Check yours rather than assuming.
WHERE TO CHANGE THEM
At your registrar, not in cPanel.
For domains registered with us, the Client Area domain management page.
For domains elsewhere, that registrar's control panel.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CHANGING
Your domain's DNS is then answered by our nameservers, using the zone in cPanel.
Any records held at a previous DNS provider stop being consulted.
THE STEP PEOPLE MISS
Recreating records that existed at the old provider: mail records, verification records, subdomains.
Note them before changing.
CHECKING
A WHOIS lookup shows the current nameservers.
Allow time for the change to take effect before concluding anything.
