Shared hosting works because typical websites use resources in short bursts. A few patterns break that assumption.
NOT PERMITTED
Cryptocurrency mining of any kind Using the account primarily as backup or file storage rather than for a website Public file-sharing, video streaming or download sites Continuously running background processes and daemons Running scripts that saturate CPU or disk for long periods Sending bulk email through the account
WHAT IS FINE
Normal websites, shops, blogs, portfolios, business sites, and applications that behave reasonably. If in doubt, ask before building.
RESOURCE LIMITS
Your plan has CPU, memory, entry process and I/O limits. Check cPanel > Resource Usage to see where you stand. Hitting them results in throttling and 508 errors for visitors, not suspension, unless the pattern is sustained and extreme.
IF YOU ARE CONSISTENTLY AT THE LIMIT
That usually means missing caching, an inefficient plugin, bot traffic, or genuine growth. The first three are fixable. The fourth means it is time for a bigger plan, a VPS, or dedicated resources.
