We receive complaints from rights holders about content hosted on our servers. Here is how the process works.
WHAT HAPPENS
- A complaint arrives identifying specific content and the rights claimed.
- We forward it to you with the details and a deadline to respond, unless the law or the severity requires immediate action.
- You either remove the content, or reply explaining why the complaint is mistaken.
- If the content is not addressed by the deadline, we may disable it.
WHAT COUNTS
Copying text, images, video or music without permission Hosting pirated software, films, music or ebooks Distributing nulled themes and plugins Using another company's trademark in a way that misleads
RESPONDING TO A COMPLAINT
If you hold a licence, have permission, or the material is your own original work, say so clearly and provide what evidence you can. If you used a stock image, provide the licence.
If the complaint is correct, the fastest resolution is to remove the material and confirm you have done so.
AVOIDING THE PROBLEM
Use properly licensed images and fonts, buy software from its developer, and write your own copy. Repeat complaints against an account can lead to termination.
