Catching problems while you still can.

WHAT TO CHECK

Every link, by clicking it The subject line for typographical errors The preview text Images loading Rendering on a phone The unsubscribe link Merge fields, with a subscriber who has no name

SEND A TEST TO YOURSELF

Always. Open it on a phone and a desktop.

Read it as a recipient rather than as the author.

CHECK THE LINKS

The most common error. A broken or wrong link in a campaign cannot be corrected once sent.

Click every one in the test message.

CHECK THE SEGMENT

Confirm you are sending to who you intend. Sending a customer-only message to the whole list is awkward.

CHECK THE FROM ADDRESS

Consistent with previous sends, and monitored. Replies go there.

A campaign sent from an unmonitored address loses you responses.

THE FINAL READ

Read it aloud. You will find the awkward sentence.

WHAT CANNOT BE UNDONE

Everything, once sent. Ten minutes of checking is proportionate.
