What visitors see when something fails.

WHAT YOU CAN CUSTOMISE

The pages Cloudflare shows for its own errors: blocks, challenges, rate limits, and the 5xx range when it cannot reach us.

WHY IT MATTERS

The default pages are branded by Cloudflare and mention technical detail that means nothing to your customers.

A visitor blocked by a firewall rule sees a page that looks like an accusation.

WHAT TO PUT ON THEM

Your business name, so the visitor knows whose site this is A brief explanation in plain language

A way to reach you: a phone number or an email address

That last point matters. A customer wrongly blocked has no other route to tell you.

THE AVAILABILITY

Customisation is limited on the free plan. Check what your plan allows.

THE PRACTICAL MINIMUM

If you cannot customise them, be aware of what they look like. Load one deliberately so you recognise the description when a customer reports it.

FOR THE 5XX PAGES

These appear when Cloudflare cannot reach us. A contact route on them is genuinely useful during an incident.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Leave a block page as the only experience for a wrongly blocked customer.
