Integrating the two.

WHAT IT DOES

Restores real visitor IP addresses, so your site does not see every visitor as Cloudflare Purges the Cloudflare cache when content changes Applies a recommended set of Cloudflare settings

WHY THE IP ADDRESS PART MATTERS

Without it, security plugins, comment filtering and fraud checks all see Cloudflare's addresses.

A security plugin blocking by address may block Cloudflare, and therefore everyone.

WHY AUTOMATIC PURGING MATTERS

Otherwise a content change is held in Cloudflare's cache and you purge manually every time, or forget.

Many caching plugins also offer Cloudflare purging. Use one or the other, not both.

WHAT TO BE CAREFUL WITH

Applying the recommended settings changes your configuration. Review what it changed, particularly the SSL mode.

INSTEAD OF THE OFFICIAL PLUGIN

Most caching plugins have Cloudflare integration built in, which handles purging and sometimes the IP address.

If yours does, you may not need a separate plugin.

THE MINIMUM YOU NEED

Real IP addresses restored, and cache purging on content change.
