WHAT IS SAFE
Brotli compression. Enable it.
WHAT BREAKS THINGS
Minification, which occasionally breaks scripts that are sensitive to formatting.
Rocket Loader, which changes when scripts run and is a common cause of broken functionality: sliders, forms, interactive elements.
If something stops working after enabling Cloudflare, these two are the usual cause.
THE APPROACH
Enable one at a time, and test the site properly after each: forms, menus, anything interactive.
If something breaks, disable that feature rather than hunting for the underlying incompatibility.
DOUBLE MINIFICATION
If your caching plugin already minifies, doing it again at Cloudflare adds nothing and increases the chance of breakage.
Choose one place to do it.
THE HONEST POSITION
Compression is worth enabling. The rest gives modest gains and causes a disproportionate share of problems.
