WHERE

The Settings link on the phpMyAdmin home page.

WORTH ADJUSTING

The number of rows shown per page, if the default is too few for your work The maximum characters displayed in a cell, so long content is not truncated in the browse view Whether to show a confirmation before destructive queries, which should stay on The default tab when opening a database or table

THE CONFIRMATION SETTING

Leave it enabled. The prompt before a DROP or DELETE has saved many people.

NAVIGATION PANEL

If you have many tables, enabling the filter box in the navigation panel makes finding one considerably faster.

QUERY HISTORY

phpMyAdmin can remember queries you have run, which is useful for repeating a diagnostic query.

BOOKMARKS

A query you run regularly can be bookmarked and re-run from a list, without retyping.

Useful for size and count queries you check periodically.

WHAT NOT TO CHANGE

Anything you do not understand. The defaults are reasonable.

RESETTING

Settings are per user and can be reset if something becomes awkward.
