A notice about content or activity.
WHAT IT MEANS
We received a report, or our monitoring detected something: spam, phishing, malware, copyright, or resource abuse.
READ THE NOTICE
It states what was found and what is required. Respond to that specifically.
WHAT TO DO
Investigate honestly. Frequently the cause is a compromise rather than anything you did. Remove the offending content Close the entry point Reply describing what you found and fixed
IF IT WAS A COMPROMISE
Treat the whole account as compromised: change every credential, clean thoroughly, update everything.
IF YOU BELIEVE IT IS A MISTAKE
Say so, with evidence. Mistakes happen, and a clear explanation resolves them.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Ignore it. Unaddressed abuse notices lead to suspension. Remove the symptom without closing the entry point, which guarantees recurrence.
RESPONSE TIME
Act promptly. Some categories, phishing particularly, are acted on without delay because the harm is ongoing.
AFTERWARDS
Review how it happened, and address that rather than only the instance.
