It produces confusing symptoms across everything at once.
FINDING WHAT IS USING SPACE
cPanel > Disk Usage. It shows the largest directories.
THE USUAL CULPRITS
Old backup archives left in the home directory Mailboxes, particularly Trash and Junk Cache directories Log files Uploaded media, especially video Old site copies nobody removed
CLEARING SPACE
Delete backup archives after downloading them Empty Trash and Junk in every mailbox Clear application cache directories Remove old log files Remove site copies you no longer need
INODES
Check this too. The inode limit is reached more often than the disk limit, and produces identical symptoms.
Many small files, typically cache and session files, are the usual cause.
PREVENTING IT
Store backups off the server. Set real mailbox quotas. Check monthly.
