Availability showing incorrectly.
THE COMMON CAUSES
Stock management enabled with a quantity of zero Stock reserved by pending orders that were never completed A variation out of stock while the parent shows available A caching plugin serving a stale page Stock reduced by an order that was later cancelled without restocking
PENDING ORDERS HOLDING STOCK
Orders awaiting bank transfer hold stock for the configured period. Several abandoned transfer orders can exhaust availability.
Check the hold period in the inventory settings, and review pending orders.
VARIATIONS
Each variation has its own stock. A product appearing unavailable may have one size out of stock while others are fine.
CACHING
Purge caches and retest. Product pages showing stale availability are a caching problem rather than a stock problem.
AFTER A RESTORE
Stock levels roll back with the database. Reconcile against physical stock after any restore.
CHECKING PROPERLY
Look at the product's inventory tab, and at each variation. The number there is what the shop believes.
