Access removed, data intact.

FIRST, READ THE NOTICE

It states the reason. The right action depends entirely on which reason it is.

IF IT IS NON-PAYMENT

Pay the outstanding invoice. Reactivation is usually automatic and quick.

Data is untouched during suspension.

IF IT IS ABUSE OR MALWARE

The content must be dealt with before access is restored. We can usually arrange temporary access to clean the account, or supply a copy of the files.

Do the remediation work, describe it in the ticket, and access is restored.

IF IT IS RESOURCE ABUSE

Identify the cause, fix it, and tell us what you changed.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR DATA

If you have an off-server backup, you have options regardless. If you do not, ask for a copy of the account while the matter is resolved.

DO NOT WAIT

Extended non-payment eventually leads to termination and deletion. A suspension is recoverable; a termination is not.

PREVENTING RECURRENCE

Keep invoices paid and contact details current Keep software updated, since compromises cause most abuse suspensions Keep your own backups
