Getting the website files back.

FROM JETBACKUP

cPanel > JetBackup > File Backups. Select a restore point, choose what to restore, and confirm.

You can restore a single file, a directory, or everything. Restoring selectively is considerably less disruptive.

FROM A PARTIAL BACKUP

cPanel > Backup, under Restore a Home Directory Backup. Upload the archive and restore.

FROM AN ARCHIVE YOU HOLD

Upload it to the home directory through File Manager, extract it, and move the contents into place.

Check where the files landed. Archives frequently contain a wrapping directory, leaving your files one level deeper than intended.

AFTERWARDS

Check file permissions: 755 directories, 644 files

Check ownership is correct, which is a common cause of the site failing after a restore Clear caches Test the site

IF THE SITE STILL FAILS

Check whether the database matches. Files from one date with a database from another produce confusing errors.
