A common Nigerian use case.

WHAT IT INVOLVES

Property listings with many images Search and filtering by location, price, type and features Enquiry forms per listing Agent accounts, where several people list

THE IMAGE PROBLEM

Property listings are image-heavy. Twenty photographs per property, multiplied by generated sizes, multiplied by hundreds of properties, consumes disk and inodes rapidly.

Resize and compress before uploading. Set sensible limits on the number of images per listing.

FILTERING AND PERFORMANCE

Search by location, price range and features generates uncached queries. Ensure the database is indexed on the filtered columns.

This is the most common cause of a property site becoming slow as listings accumulate.

LOCATION DATA

Use the area names customers actually search: specific neighbourhoods rather than only the state.

This matters for both filtering and search visibility.

ENQUIRIES

The enquiry form is the commercial purpose. Ensure it delivers reliably, configured through SMTP, and test it regularly.

DUPLICATE LISTINGS

If agents submit, duplicates appear. Plan for moderation.
