After installation, delete the install directory. PrestaShop will warn until you do.
Note the randomly generated admin directory name, which is a security measure. Record it; there is no way to guess it later.

PERFORMANCE
PrestaShop is resource-hungry. Enable its caching, and enable the combination and minification of assets.
A shop with a large catalogue may need more resources than a small shared plan provides.
MULTISTORE
PrestaShop supports multiple shops from one installation. Useful, and it complicates everything. Do not enable it unless you need it.
MODULES
From the official marketplace or the developer. Many are paid, and licensing is per installation.
