Using Softaculous to Install Applications Print

WHAT IT DOES

Creates the files, the database and the database user, and runs the installation, in one operation.

INSTALLING

  1. cPanel > Softaculous Apps Installer.
  2. Find the application by category or search.
  3. Click Install Now.
  4. Choose https:// if your certificate is active, and select the domain.
  5. Clear the "In Directory" field unless you deliberately want it in a subfolder. Leaving the default installs at yourdomain.com/wp, which is rarely intended.
  6. Set an admin username other than admin, a strong password, and a working email address.
  7. Install.

AFTERWARDS

Log in and change anything the installer set that you would not have chosen Run AutoSSL if you have not Configure backups Remove any sample content

WHAT TO WATCH

Its automatic updates can break customised sites. Test on a staging copy before enabling them on anything important. Its backups sit on the same server and count against your quota.
