My Pages Are Indexed but Not Ranking Print

Present in the index, invisible in results.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being indexed means eligible to rank. It does not mean ranking.

Most pages on most sites rank for nothing, which is normal.

THE LIKELY CAUSES

The query is too competitive for your site's authority The content does not match search intent The content is thinner or less useful than what ranks The site is new and has little authority Nobody links to the page The page is buried and rarely crawled

DIAGNOSING

Search the query yourself and look at what ranks. Is your page genuinely better? Is it even the same kind of page?

Check Search Console for that page: does it get impressions at all? Impressions with no clicks means you rank somewhere, just not visibly.

WHAT TO DO

Target less competitive queries where you can realistically be the best answer Improve the page substantially rather than adjusting it Link to it from other pages on your site Earn a link or two

WHAT NOT TO DO

Keep adjusting keywords on a page that is fundamentally less useful than the competition.
