Writing for a specific area.
WHAT PEOPLE SEARCH
Service plus location: "plumber in Lekki", "web designer Lagos", "bakery near Ikeja"
These queries have clear intent and modest competition.
CONTENT THAT WORKS
A page for each area you serve, with genuine content about serving that area rather than the same text with the place name swapped Content about local matters relevant to your business Case studies of work done locally Answers to questions local customers actually ask
WHAT DOES NOT WORK
Dozens of identical pages differing only in the place name. Engines recognise this and it can harm you.
If you serve twenty areas, write well about the main ones rather than badly about all twenty.
NATURAL INCLUSION
Mention your location naturally: in the page title where relevant, in the content, in your contact details.
Do not force it into every sentence.
THE NIGERIAN CONTEXT
Include the specific area, not just the state. "Lagos" is broad; "Yaba" or "Victoria Island" reaches people looking for something nearby.
Use the terms locals actually use.
