By default WordPress shows your latest posts on the homepage. Most business sites want a designed landing page instead.
Steps
- Create two pages under Pages → Add New: one called Home with your landing content, and an empty one called Blog (leave it blank — WordPress fills it).
- Go to Settings → Reading.
- Set Your homepage displays to A static page.
- Choose Home for Homepage and Blog for Posts page.
- Save Changes.
Controlling the blog listing
On the same screen, set how many posts appear per page, and whether the feed shows full text or a summary. Summaries are usually better — visitors get to more posts with less scrolling.
If you do not want a blog at all
Set the homepage to your static page and leave the Posts page empty. You can also remove Posts from the menu entirely.
After changing this, go to Appearance → Menus and make sure your navigation points to the right pages, and clear your cache so visitors see the change.
