The interface for Git without the command line.

CREATING A REPOSITORY

cPanel > Git Version Control > Create. You can create an empty repository or clone an existing one.

For a clone, supply the repository URL and the directory to clone into.

For a private repository you need a deploy key, covered separately.

DEPLOYING

If the repository contains a deployment configuration file, cPanel can run deployment tasks when you trigger a deployment from the interface.

Without one, the pull updates the files and nothing else runs.

WHAT IT IS GOOD FOR

Simple sites where deployment is just getting files in place Teams who prefer not to use the command line A visible record of the last deployment

LIMITATIONS

Less flexible than scripting your own deployment The deployment configuration format is specific and needs learning No rollback beyond Git itself

A PRACTICAL APPROACH

Use it to pull code, and handle anything more complex with a script you run yourself.
